Current Projects

To achieve the objective of reducing the number of undiagnosed people living with HIV in Europe and Central Asia and promoting timely treatment and linkage to care, the COBATEST Network participates in various research projects.

CORE – COmmunity REsponse to End Inequalities

Funding: EU4Health Programme 2021-2027
Implementation period: 2023–2025
Co-coordinating partners: CEEISCAT (representing COBATEST network), AIDS Action Europe (AAE), Lila Milano, GAT, Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM), DAH, ESWA, AAF, Correlation, EATG, Czech AIDS Help Society.

Отчёт “CORE – COmmunity REsponse to End Inequalities” project is a 36-month EU Action Grant implemented from January 2023 to December 2025, bringing together 24 partners across 16 EU Member States. CORE seeks to reduce inequalities in the HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and viral hepatitis responses by promoting, strengthening, and integrating community-led initiatives that have proven essential in reaching populations underserved by mainstream prevention and healthcare systems. This work is especially critical in countries where community-based responses remain underdeveloped and where gaps in access to care persist compared to the EU average. All project details can be found on its website здесь.

Within the CORE project, the COBATEST Network co-led Work Package 5 (WP5) together with GAT (Grupo de Ativistas em Tratamentos, Portugal). This work package focuses on enhancing and expanding community-based services for integrated prevention, testing, linkage to care, and treatment adherence across Europe.

As part of its contribution, COBATEST’s existing data collection and monitoring tools are being used and adapted to ensure consistency and comparability across partner organizations. The activities under WP5 are implemented by 14 community-based organizations in 12 European countries, working collectively to strengthen the role of community-led services in the HIV, TB, and viral hepatitis responses.

BOOST Project: Strengthening Community-Led Harm Reduction Services Across Europe

Funding: EU4Health Programme 2021-2027
Implementation period: 2023–2025
Co-coordinating partners: CEEISCAT/IGTP (representing COBATEST network), C-EHRN, ACF, ABD, Drug Policy Network SEE,  EHRA, EuroNPUD, Lila Milano, Free Clinic, ISGlobal, Re Generation, SPR, Villa Maraini Foundation.

Отчёт BOOST project aims to support and strengthen community-based and community-led organizations in delivering services for communicable diseases as part of comprehensive, people-centered harm reduction strategies.

To achieve this, the project collects data on the availability and quality of existing services for people who use drugs and provides capacity-building programs to enhance the effectiveness of community-led responses. Through mutual learning, training, and mentoring activities, BOOST helps organizations expand the accessibility and impact of their services. The project also focuses on disseminating results и advocating for policy improvements among a wide range of stakeholders.

BOOST is implemented through a strong collaboration between four community-based and community-led networks и nine partner organizations, all of which bring extensive experience in EU-level cooperation.

As part of this partnership, the COBATEST Network contributes by adapting and applying its data collection and monitoring tools to the harm reduction field, ensuring that relevant information on testing and linkage to care is consistently gathered and analyzed.
