Dr. Megi Gogishvili presented an abstract titled “CBVCT Quality Data Collection from EECA Members of the COBATEST Network: Analyzing Data from 2015 to 2021” at the EECA Interact Conference, held in Riga, Latvia, from December 13 to 14.

From 2015 to 2021, twenty-five centers from 17 EECA countries have become members of the network. In total 258,909 persons were tested for HIV during given period in given 25 CBVCTs. While gradual increase in membership and testing data has been found, only 7 members have demonstrated consistent commitment to yearly data collec/on. Substan/al decline in HIV tests reported was found in 2020, specifically by 47%. However, in 2021 tests reported increased by 39%. Not counting the first year of data collection (2015-2016) where only 1 member from Ukraine was from selected regions, the lowest prevalence of tests reported was found in 2020, specifically 37,173 HIV tests. In contrary, the highest prevalence of tests reported was found in 2019, specifically 70,583 HIV tests. Propor/on of reac/ve tests decreased from 1.7% in 2017 to 1.3% through-out 2018 to 2020, increasing again to 1.8% in 2021.

Dr. Megi Gogishvili presented an abstract titled “Comparison of HIV Testing Performed Pre- and During COVID-19 at Community-Based Testing Centers in Europe: Analyzing COBATEST Network Data from 2019 to 2020”at the IUSTI Conference, held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from September 29 to October 1.

From 2019 to 2020, forty centers from 15 European countries reported data on HIV testing in both years using the COBATEST standardized data reporting tools. In total 111,117 persons were tested for HIV by forty centers in 2019, and in 2020 the same 40 centers reported 70084 (36.9% less) persons tested. Most of the centers demonstrated substantial decrease in persons tested ranging from 30% to 60% compared to 2019. Three centres had reported more than 60% decrease in HIV testing in 2020 compared to 2019. Minor increase was found in4 centers and one center reported substantial increase.
